Master Suite Review

July 5, 2013 in News, Ramblings

Look in the mirrorI was very sceptical when this one came out: Sims go to the Bathroom. But it turned out it was actually the first stuff pack with some Oomph. Yes, it is all geared to bathroom stuff, and bedroom stuff, but it is all done very nicely. It’s probably because there is so little variation to start with in the base game, that each new toilet just makes you go ‘ohhh’ and ‘ahhh’. The nightwear is very impractical, but hey: this is a fantasy game, so let’s all strap ourselves in a tight corset and try to sleep before we suffocate. Still, truthfully, this stuff pack is the one you should pick up if you only pick one.

Sims 3 Pets

June 14, 2013 in News

A horseSo I am giving it another try. Again. Pets, then. What about them? Well, it is an expansion I bought again. Seeing as how I bought this for the sims 2, and the sims 1. And now again, but with added horses.

Bye bye.

June 7, 2013 in News

I am closing the blog now. You know why? Because I was suckered in again and installed updates only to have my game become so glitchy and unplayable, again. Even Twallan’s/ NRaas’s  mods cant help now. The game freezes at random, aside from new objects, I have trouble finding anything new and exciting about the content. I played sims 2, you know. I know about pets and pet rocks. Why the hell did I buy an expansion I already have for an earlier, and may I say, better incarnation of a game? I am such an idiot. I am an idiot who easily parted with her money.

Never again.

Bye.

Town Life stuff pack review

June 1, 2013 in News

Town life new outfitThe last stuff pack I bought before my hiatus was a disappointment. So I had no expectations for this one. But it’s not bad. Of course, I picked this one up 2 years after it came out, at a reduced price, so I guess I am finally getting value for money. There are a few new outfits, three new hairstyles and a couple of random new objects. And: new rabbitholes for your sims to disappear into. Read the rest of this entry →

Outdoor Living Stuff pack review

June 19, 2011 in News, Ramblings

Garden stuff The Sims 3After the immediate disappointment of the Fast Lane car-themed stuff pack, and the belated disappointment after Late night, I vowed not to get Outdoor Living, because a garden-themed stuff pack seemed pointless. I was right. But it made a nice addition to Generations. It takes a stuff pack and an expansion to make it feel like a substantial addition to your game.

Sims 3 Generations expansion pack review

June 9, 2011 in News, Ramblings

BBQ in bikiniThe Sims 3 Generations expansion pack is another chapter in the Sims 3 game. It adds gameplay that fans will recognise from TS2 expansion packs, while staying clear of the things that were boring in TS2. Did they finally get it right? Maybe. So far Generations is a good mix of new things, like the Imaginary Friend, and old things returning, such as pillow fights. It is still not a completely bug-free expansion pack, as a look at the official Sims 3 forums shows. There are still many players that have trouble getting the game to run.

The Sims 3 Store: Free Stuff

June 5, 2011 in News, Ramblings

Lord Sponge Free sims 3 t-shirt

After a few months of inactivity, we’re kind of back with more sims things.  Let’s start with some information about free stuff at the very expensive The Sims 3 Store. For more information, also visit this forum thread at the official TS3 forums.

It’s the new thing for games to add content through online features. TS3 has its own store for furniture, clothes and hairstyles. And it costs extra money. It’s not enough to spend money buying a game, you have to have the opportunity to spend even more money to make your game fun to play.

Back to The Sims 2

January 1, 2011 in News

Five and Dae in The Sims 2I’ve just started playing The Sims 2 again. And I like it. Five had been telling me to try going back to TS2, because I am becoming more and more frustrated with The Sims 3. Even with all the expansions, stuff packs and tons of stuff I bought from The Sims 3 store, the game just remains a buggy, nearly unplayable game. It seems they rely on people to buy expansion packs to flesh out a game that was barely more than a demo when it first came out. Read the rest of this entry →

Sims 3 Late Night expansion pack review

October 30, 2010 in News, Ramblings

The Sims 3 Late Night BridgeportAbout a month and a half ago we bought the rather disappointing stuff pack Fast Lane. And now EA brings us a full expansion pack already. Late Night does make up for the last stuff pack. I wonder if they knew how disappointed sim players would be with the stuff pack, knowing that Late Night would be received a lot better. Not only because the theme of stepping out on the town is more exciting than driving some cars, but because the stuff in the expansion pack is actually better, more entertaining and interesting.

Sims 3 Fast Lane stuff pack review

September 16, 2010 in News, Ramblings

Fashion and sofa from Fast LaneThe day the stuff pack was announced I told Five not to get this one for me. I rarely use cars in The Sims 3. I’ll talk about that in another ramble, though. And there did not seem to be a lot of items that I’d use or need. But as with all packs, from the sims 1 onwards, I felt the pull as the release date came closer. So on the day it came out, I sent Five out to get me it. I’d be damned if I payed for such a crappy accesories pack myself. Read the rest of this entry →
