This was the inside of the Small house at the start of spring.

On the second morning of spring Trixie took Ed down to the fishing pond and together they caught some fresh fish.

Meanwhile the guys started work on planting an orchard. The trees would provide lots of fresh fruit in the future.

It took all day to plant those trees, but eventually the work was complete.

The warm evenings were attracting lots of stray dogs to the neighbourhood, but they weren’t bothering the family.

Not only were the plants growing fast, but Ed was too.

He still liked playing with toys though.

So much so, that Mick gave Ed a workbench, so that he could make his own toys.

Would Ed ever be as handy as Mick?
